History
First introduced to Bitcoin in 2011 by his best friend, Peter was asked if he wanted to split the cost of a Bitcoin miner. While he did not understand it enough to be willing to invest at the time, this opened up a door he could no longer shut. He wanted to understand what exactly was Bitcoin and why did it matter? After researching over the next two years and several “A-ha!” moments later, he began to see the price rise from just a few dollars to $30 per Bitcoin.
After convincing his wife of the importance of Bitcoin in early 2013, they agreed to invest $5,000 and hold it for a minimum of five years. During the year the price jumped from $30 to $1200 per Bitcoin. At this point Peter tried to tell everyone he could about Bitcoin, its potential, and what it would mean for the world. Unfortunately few seemed to take any interest. It did not help that over the next three years the price proved pretty stale, as it never broke the previous high of $1200 from December 2013.
Everything changed in 2017, the year when many Bitcoin believers were made. Bitcoin catapulted to a record price of approximately $20,000 per Bitcoin. It was at this time, while spending Christmas with his family in south Florida, that he really felt a calling to help people with Bitcoin full-time. Peter decided to leave his job as an eCommerce project manager and start Eschaton Research Partners in January 2018. This was also when he sold the first Bitcoin he bought for $150 in 2013 for $16,500, which he used to fund the new business.
